Envirocorp Policies

POLICIES AND GUIDELINES OVERVIEW

The following guidelines are summarized from codes of practice. They are provided as key prompts and are not to be substituted for the codes themselves, which shall be adopted in relevant work situations. Many of the guidelines relate to working on, or equipment, at client sites. Envirocorp staff and subcontractors must be aware of client safety requirements when working at client sites.

1. ALCOHOL

Envirocorp is committed to the responsible use of alcohol at company sponsored functions. All employees are expected to set an example in this regard at any company sponsored function. This commitment is based on consideration for the health and safety of all employees, as well as the need to consider those who do not choose to consume alcohol or whose lives are affected by the mis-consumption of alcohol.

A representative from senior management will be present at company sponsored events, and will be responsible for ensuring the safe consumption and serving of alcohol, including closing the bar promptly in line with the specified time for alcohol serving. In addition, if staff are aware that a staff member or guest has had too much to drink, responsible steps will be taken for their safety home. Envirocorp will ensure that an adequate supply of non-alcoholic drinks and food is available. Envirocorp encourages staff to attend company sponsored functions. As it is the intention of management that these occasions be enjoyable, professional and responsible behavior and good judgment is essential to the continuation of company sponsored social activities where alcohol is served.

Staff and contractors going into the field, undergoing normal work practices, driving a company vehicle operating or supervising operation of machinery must be at a zero blood alcohol.

Envirocorp may request blood alcohol testing if it is believed staff and contractors have breached these guidelines.

2. DRUGS

Envirocorp does not permit the use of any illegal drugs while at work. Staff and contractors shall not be under the influence of any illegal drug while at work. If staff or subcontractors are found to be under the influence of illegal drugs, disciplinary actions may be taken, including the requests to undertake counseling.

Any staff and contractors taking prescribed medications must notify management and adhere to the medical directions.
